Terms of Service

Last updated: December 12, 2025

Contents

These Terms of Service explain how you can use the CertiAce platform. The Service is owned and operated by CertiAce Oy, a Finnish limited liability company. By creating an account or purchasing access, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

To use the paid features of the Service, you must be at least 18 years old and have full legal capacity to enter into a binding contract. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

The Service is offered only to individual consumers. It is not intended for business use.

2. Accounts

You may need an account to use parts of the Service.

You agree to

  • provide accurate and up to date information
  • keep your login details secure
  • be responsible for all activity that takes place through your account

If you believe your account has been used without your permission, you should contact us as soon as possible.

3. Use of the Service

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in line with these Terms. CertiAce retains all ownership and intellectual property rights to the Service and its content.

You may not

  • copy, record, or redistribute the content
  • remove or change any copyright, trademark, or other ownership notice

Account sharing

Your account is personal and may be used only by you. Sharing your account with other people is not allowed. We may suspend or terminate accounts that are shared or used by multiple people.

Automated access and scraping

You may not use bots, scripts, scraping tools, automated systems, or similar technology to access, copy, or interact with the Service.

Fair use

The Service is designed for reasonable personal use. We may limit or restrict access if your usage is unusually high or appears to exceed reasonable personal use.

No commercial use

You may not reproduce, distribute, publish, resell, or commercially exploit any part of the Service or its content.

Account transfer

You may not transfer, sell, or give your account to another person.

5. Payment

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By completing a purchase, you authorise CertiAce Oy and Stripe to charge your chosen payment method for the amount shown at checkout.

All applicable taxes, including value added tax for customers in the European Union, are calculated and collected based on your location as required by law. The total price including taxes is shown at checkout.

You must make sure your payment information is correct and that there are enough funds or credit to complete the payment.

6. Automatic Renewal for Subscriptions

If you purchase a subscription, it will renew automatically at the end of each billing period for the same length of time, at the price shown at checkout, unless you cancel before the renewal date.

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. After that date, you will not be charged again for that subscription.

If we change the subscription price or a main feature of the subscription in a way that significantly affects you, we will notify you in advance by email or through the Service. If you do not agree to the change, you may cancel the subscription before the change takes effect.

If a payment fails, we may suspend access to paid features until the payment issue is resolved.

7. Delivery of Digital Content and Right of Withdrawal

When you purchase digital content that is delivered immediately after payment, you request that we begin delivery right away and you acknowledge that once access begins you lose the fourteen day statutory right of withdrawal that normally applies to online consumer contracts in the European Union.

By completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms, which include your request for immediate delivery and your acknowledgment that the fourteen day withdrawal right does not apply once access begins.

If in the future we offer purchases where access does not begin immediately, we may provide a fourteen day withdrawal right. In that case, the details will be displayed clearly at checkout.

8. Refunds

Purchases of digital content are non refundable because access begins immediately after payment, except where European Union consumer law requires a refund.

This refund policy does not limit any mandatory rights you may have under consumer protection law. In particular, if we fail to supply the digital content or if the digital content does not conform to the contract and we cannot fix the issue within a reasonable time, you may be entitled to a price reduction or refund as required by law.

If you experience a technical problem that prevents you from accessing the Service, please contact support so we can help.

9. Invoices and Receipts

After each successful purchase, we send a receipt to the email address linked to your account.

CertiAce serves only individual consumers and does not issue value added tax invoices for business use.

10. Changes to Pricing or Paid Features

We may change the price of the Service or the features included in a paid plan. For subscription customers, we will notify you in advance if the price or a main feature changes.

If you do not agree to a change, you can cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You can also delete your account by contacting us, subject to any data retention obligations we have under law.

We may suspend or end your access to the Service if you

  • violate these Terms
  • use the Service in a way that causes risk or harm to us or to other users

12. Intellectual Property

All content on the Service, including questions, explanations, text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by CertiAce Oy or its licensors.

When you buy access, you receive a personal, limited, non exclusive licence to use the content only through the Service for your own learning. You may not copy, share, republish, or resell any content.

We may update, modify, or remove content as part of improving the Service.

13. Third Party Services

The Service may use third party services, for example Stripe for payment processing or hosting providers. These services may have their own terms and privacy practices. When you use features that rely on these services, you may also be bound by their terms.

14. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an as is and as available basis. We do not promise that the Service will be free from interruptions or errors.

We do not guarantee that using the Service will lead to passing any certification exam or achieving any particular result.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CertiAce Oy is not liable for indirect or consequential loss or damage, such as loss of income, loss of data, or loss of opportunity.

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights or our liability for intent, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by applicable law.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Finnish law.

If you are a consumer living in the European Union, you also enjoy the protection of the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example when we change the Service or when legal requirements change.

If we make a material change, we will notify you by email or through the Service. The updated Terms apply from the date they are posted. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service and cancel any active subscription before the changes take effect.

17. Questions and Complaints

If you have a question or complaint about the Service, you can contact us at support@certiace.com. We will reply within a reasonable time.

18. No Affiliation with Certification Providers

CertiAce is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft or any other certification provider.

All trademarks, logos, and brand names remain the property of their respective owners.

19. Pricing Errors

If a price shown on the Service is clearly incorrect, we are not obliged to provide access at that price. If you have already paid, we will cancel the order and refund the amount you paid.

20. Suspension and Termination for Misuse

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, for example by sharing your account, using automated tools, or copying content.

In such cases, you are not entitled to a refund for any fees already paid, except where consumer protection law requires otherwise.

21. Events Outside Our Control

We are not responsible for delays or failures to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control. This can include internet outages, failures of hosting providers, strikes, regulatory actions, or other events that we cannot reasonably prevent.

22. Assignment

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another company, for example in connection with a merger or sale of the business. This will not reduce your rights under these Terms.

You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms to another person.

23. Severability and No Waiver

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply.

If we do not enforce a particular right under these Terms, it does not mean that we waive that right or any other rights.
